Romans 8:1
‘There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. . .’
Colossians 2:10
‘You are complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and power. .
Today my thoughts are on women, not because men are perfect but because I will claim ignorance on their daily challenges and struggles.
Most women would admit that they know that small voice in their head. . the voice that comes to tell you how inadequate and below the mark you are.
Its interesting that the enemy uses this potent weapon against us all, whatever situation we may find ourselves. Because we all have issues, and areas of our lives we struggle with, he loves to tell us we are failures and no good. It doesn’t matter who you are or who you know, he brings the same tactics against us all.
If you’re a successful career woman, he’ll probably tell you you’re not good enough as a wife and mother as your career may demand you spend lots of hours away from home. Stay at home mums are made to believe they amount to nothing, as they have no voice or expression in the market place.
He whispers to the hearts of women yet to conceive, telling them they’re not good enough to bear children and he mocks the singleness of our unmarried sisters.
Whatever your lot or position, know that the enemy delights to bring accusations of inadequacy against us. Because when we feel inadequate, then comes shame. Shame keeps us from reaching out, from being bold and from having a voice. Shame keeps us from being and doing all God wants us to. And then he’s pleased, for that is his goal. To keep us bound, afflicted, powerless and ineffective. He wants us taking our eyes off Jesus, and would do all he can to keep us from fulfilling the Masters call over our lives. That’s his goal. Whatever his tactic, his goal is always separation from God. Wouldn’t it be nice to remember this every time he pulls a new trick? To tell him: ‘I know where you’re headed, devil. And I’m not going there with you!’
So now, whenever the enemy bring an accusation of inadequacy, you have a very good idea where he’s headed! Reject it! That I’m a stay at home mum doesn’t mean I’m inadequate. Or that I’m yet to be married or have a baby or have a great job or a small job or struggling with my marriage or happily married. . . . Whatever the case may be.
Point is, it’s not his place to decide whether I measure up or not. Sorry devil, but you don’t get to make that call. You don’t decide. God does, and He thinks I’m very adequate, whatever my station in life. If I realize I need to make certain lifestyle changes to ensure my life glorifies God at all times, I most definitely will. But I will not have you feeding me conspiracy theories anymore. I know where you are headed!
