Colossians 4:12-13
Tucked away towards the end of Colossians is the mention of the faithful saint, Epaphras. I’ve never paid much attention to him before now. But I’m grateful I have.
Epaphras was a faithful consistent colabourer with Paul, who spent much of his time praying earnestly for the churches in Colosse, Laodicea and Hierapolis.
He prayed that the Christians in these places would stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. How apt, how profound!
If you’re like me, then you will admit to spending a lot of your time bouncing back and forth. . . sure one day of what exactly God will have you do, beset by doubts and frustration the very next day!
I pray that you and I will stand firm in all the will of God. . . that we will be where God would have us be, at every point in time and in every area of our lives. Not stopping here, we will dwell in the place of His perfect will, with all confidence and full assurance, no longer tossed around with changing opinions, insecurity and all the other darts in Satan’s arsenal.
I pray too that we come to full maturity and completeness in Him, in whom is the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
Stand firm, waiver no more.
Shalom.
