“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
I’ve spent so much time and energy being all bothered and stressed about the decisions (or lack thereof, LOL) of certain people in authority over me. I had really let this steal my joy and my peace. Especially, as this was something I had to confront daily.
I must confess too that I’d been so peeved that I wasn’t particularly interested in praying for them., and secretly hoped that they mess up big time, so every one else would see that they weren’t very good leaders. Quite terrible of me, I know.
But thank God for God, and for His Word. I repent for not doing this earlier – I’ve now taken to praying for all those in authority over me. That God give them the grace and wisdom to make just decisions. I pray that they lead successfully, and their leadership no longer be a source of pain and stress to me.
I pray for the leaders of my Country and the Country in which I live. I pray for peace and righteous decrees. I pray for wisdom and strength. And that they would all be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth – in Jesus name.
I can definitely say that I am sleeping so much better and the Lord has restored my peace.
Have a blessed week ahead!
Shalom
