Happy Fall New Year! 🍂

It’s September 2, and the first day back at school over here! The roads will be buzzing this morning as kids head out, and emotions will be all over the place—anxiety, excitement, nervousness, and joy (especially for parents who just survived the summer, lol).

This year feels especially significant in my household as we move into milestone classes. I’m sitting here, enjoying a few quiet minutes before the rush begins, trying to take it all in. Honestly, where did the time go? How is it already September when it felt like January just yesterday? And somehow, the end of 2025—and winter—are already peeking around the corner. Sigh!

If you’ve been here before, you probably know the advice: lean in, enjoy the seasons, celebrate every moment. I know, I know. Still, I can’t help but wish time would slow down a little.

As children across the nation (and beyond) begin a new school year, I want to pause and share this prayer for them:

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18

My Prayer for the Children

  • Lord, just as in 2 Corinthians 3:18, I pray that every veil be removed—anything that keeps them from seeing and knowing You, or from seeing themselves as You see them: loved and whole.
  • I pray that every veil that blocks learning, wisdom, or growth this year be lifted.
  • May they reflect Your glory like mirrors, being transformed into Your image day by day.
  • Let the spirit of excellence rest upon them—the grace to work hard, stay diligent, and reap the rewards of their effort.
  • May their unique gifts and strengths be nurtured in these formative years.
  • I pray for healthy friendships, opportunities to grow, and hearts ready to serve.
  • Above all, I ask for Your safety and preservation. Watch over their going out and coming in. May no harm come near them.

And for the teachers, staff, and everyone who will guide and support our kids this year—Lord, bless them with wisdom, patience, strength, and joy.

Here’s to an amazing 2025/26 school year—for every child, every family, and every educator.
