…but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night. (Psalm 1:2)
I’ve had to look up the word ‘delight’again, when I was studying this verse. I’ve found that something you delight in brings you great pleasure, lots of joy.
Oh Lord, today I pray that you would open the eyes of our hearts to see the great treasures in your Word. Cause our hearts to delight in Your Word and in Your ways.
Give us wisdom and revelation to dig deep and discover the gems hidden in Your Word. Sustain our hunger and passion for your Word, don’t let it fade away or be satiated by something more fleeting and temporal.
Open our eyes O Lord, as we seek to fill our inner wells with the Water of Life, which is Your word. We will do this by meditating on your Word – turning your Word over and over in our minds, thinking about Your Word.
Help us store your Word in our hearts and as we do that, enlarge the storehouses of our hearts – that we may take in more and more of you, O Lord.
