Hello and welcome to Brine Devotional!
Welcome too, to the second half of 2013! I pray that God guides and leads you to a deeper walk with Him through this devotional.
Here at Brine, Psalm 27:4-5 is our anchor scripture and charge for this year.
‘ONE thing have I desired of the Lord and that ONE thing will I seek after‘. This one thing will be my focus and my concentration. This ONE thing will I wholeheartedly pursue and keep before my eyes. This ONE thing will I weigh all my actions and activities this year by;
‘That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life‘. My family and I will dwell in the house of the Lord (God’s presence) all the days of our lives. My children’s children and their own children will dwell in the house of the Lord (God’s presence) all the days of their lives. We will cultivate, inhabit, dwell in, abide in God’s presence every single day of our lives. We will always be where God is, move where He moves. We will be sensitive to recognize His leading and His voice. We will be partakers of eternal and heavenly conversations, and share in the company of the Father all the days of our lives.
‘To behold the beauty of the Lord‘. We will fix our attention and our gaze on the splendor, the glory, the grace, the excellence, the superior ways of God, the majesty of God, the generosity of God, the wisdom of God, the Love of God, the abundance and riches of God, the heart and plans of God, the Son of God, and all the many facets of Who He is and how awesome He is.
‘And to inquire in His temple‘. To know the secrets of the Lord. To know the mind of the Lord. To accurately interpret times and seasons like the sons of Issachar, to be vessels of honor, to ask questions of the Lord, to be co laborers with the Lord, to hold intimate conversations with the Almighty.
For if we do all the above, He will hide us in the time of trouble in His pavilion. He will hide us in the secret place of His tabernacle because we are already intimate with Him, He knows us and trusts us, so He can let us into deeper parts of His presence. He can hide us where no one else can find us. God has depths yet for each one of us to discover in Him. He’s calling out: come, come, come.
O God, bring us into the secret places of Your tabernacle not made with human hands. Clear all that blocks our path to You. Let us discover the gift of true and deeper intimacy with the Father. Set us high upon the rock that is Jesus Christ, Your Son.
Amen.
