Yep, there’s a bible verse about being a coward!
God’s Spirit doesn’t make cowards out of us. The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-control.

So who’s is a coward?
According to Wikipedia, Cowardice is a trait wherein excessive fear prevents an individual from taking a risk or facing danger. It is the opposite of courage. As a label, “cowardice” indicates a failure of character in the face of a challenge. One who succumbs to cowardice is known as a coward.
So basically, a coward is one who doesn’t stand up. One who won’t take risks or rise to the occasion when it is required. She’s one who would rather sit and let fear hold her back. One who has a vision and can see the promised land but is too paralysed by the ‘what-ifs’ to step out and take territory. Hmm.
Oh, I could go on and on about letting fear stop you from taking the next step. Like this is my jam, lol. I struggle with this a lot! Oh, and it could be fear of anything – fear of failing, fear of the unknown, fear of falling and having no one to catch you, even the really ridiculous ones. I mean, all fear is ridiculous but there are some that really take the prize such as fear of being noticed, fear of doing well & succeeding, and fear of everything. You see, whatever it is you are afraid of, you can’t let it stop you from doing what God has called you to do. I like to say:
Feel the fear, and do it anyway!

Power, Love & Self-Control
I thank God that for today and every day, strength is available. May God cause strength to well up on your inside as you meditate on our focus scripture today. Receive the power and enablement of the Spirit to stand up, step out and do that which He has called you to do.
I pray today that we all open our hearts to receive the power, love, and self-control that the Spirit gives so that we may be strengthened. Indeed, we are no longer cowards, Hallelujah.
