Pray

1 Thessalonians 5:17

‘and never stop praying.’ (Contemporary English Version)

Prayer changes things. Prayer releases God’s power to work in the situations we pray for.

I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes I wonder about prayer. Sometimes it feels like such a simple thing to do, so unimportant in the face of huge challenges; especially when the devil tries to make us believe our mountains are too heavy, too big and too hard set for prayer to make any difference.

It’s amazing really, but God promises to listen and hear us when we pray. He not only listens, he comforts, He counsels, he strengthens and encourages us when we pray. And he works on the issues we raise to Him in prayer, according to His will.

In earnest prayer, God helps us change our perspective, so we are not looking at how impossible the problem is, but how great our God is. I see this throughout the prayers in the book of Psalms.

I don’t know what you may be going through. But please do not stop praying. Do not let the devil convince you that prayer isn’t working. I pray that as you pray (pun intended), God will strengthen you and grant you the desire of your heart according to His will.

In conclusion, I pray Psalm 23:  5 for you. God will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies. Right in that difficult situation, in the midst of all the opposition you face, the Lord will prepare you a sumptuous banquet, and you will dine as a guest of the Most High to the glory of His name.

I pray the Lord lifts your burdens and gives you lightness of heart. I pray He restores and refreshes you as well. I pray that you never stop praying. Prayer changes things.

Shalom.
