Psalm 46: 1- 11
‘Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea’. (Verse 2, NIV)
A few months ago, there was an earthquake in a neighbouring country, and we felt the tremors right here in our city, lasted for about 2 days I think.
Well, I hadn’t heard about the earthquake, so I was frightened when our buildings began to shake and sway. I had never seen that before. I’d better confess that I thought that was the end. . okay God is this it? I was so scared. Each tremor lasted for a few minutes a time. And just when you began to relax and think you probably imagined it, the building would shake again.
Now, the earth didn’t give way in my case (thank goodness), neither did the mountains fall into the sea. The constant in this scripture today is “therefore we will not fear!”. Whatever happens, we will not fear! Psalm 27 says because the Lord is the strength of our lives, who else should we fear?
Even if the whole world turns against us, we will not fear, though we lose all that we hold dear, we still should not fear. as we enter a new month, God’s word exhorts us, whatever you see in this month, do not fear! what ever you face, do not fear!
The Lord is with us, He will lead and guide us to the very end. Father strengthen our hearts, give us boldness and courage, Planning to make this my motto for this month. . . ‘Therefore I will not fear’
Shalom
