John 15:14-16
Amos 3:3 The Almighty does nothing without first revealing it to His servants, the prophets.
I don’t know where and at what point some Christians pick up the notion of God as this big Guy, who dwells in a fuzzy dark place, above and inaccessible, One we don’t understand and cannot fathom.
I remember at some time in my life, being very afraid of the will of God. I’d never pray and ask that His will be done. I didn’t trust Him. What if His will for for me to suffer and be miserable? What if His will was more than I could bear. Hell no! I definitely couldn’t risk that.
But God is not some distant confusing Being we are all trying to figure out! Unlike what we thought we knew about Him, being a God who delights in secrecy and distance, He is not like that. He loves leading and telling and showing us. His secrets are constantly with those who fear Him.
Indeed, He is a loving father who calls us friends, not servants! Jesus says, if we would honor the terms of our friendship with Him, which is to love and obey Him, then we wouldn’t live in darkness anymore.
He would reveal to us, all things He hears from the Father. In Christ is illumination and knowledge. No more wandering around in the dark, confused and lost. The Lord offers us clarity and light today.
Shalom
