Mathew 8: 23-27
‘He replied, you of little faith, why are you so afraid?’ (Verse 26, NIV)
Of course they were afraid. Who wouldn’t? Caught in a furious storm at sea with no land in sight. The disciples got hysterical as they stared death in the face. Save us, Lord they cried. We are going to drown.
Jesus was really asking them, what do you think can happen to this boat while I’m on it? Why are you afraid of death when I am life? Do you think this boat will sink with Me on it, however fierce the storm?
Jesus is in our boats too. Mine and yours. Oh yes. He isn’t an interfering loud occupant who just loves to be noticed. But He is in our boat too. Remember He promised to always be with us.
When next you’re in a storm that’s threatening to push your boat under or suck the very life out of you, remember the question of the Master. Why are you afraid? What can possible happen to this boat that I cannot handle? I am life, I am success, I am health, I am provision. I am.
Do you not know Me well enough yet? Why are you afraid?
