Proverbs 2:6-8
‘For He guards the course of the just, and protects the way of the faithful ones’ (Verse 8, NIV)
How can I forget what it felt like to be a new mum? I felt all the associated emotions; panic, anxiety, paranoia, love. . . so much love. I went from being totally clueless about every thing babies, to being this over protective domestic police woman. I would wake up several times in the night to check on her just to make sure she was still breathing! Lol, I know, new mum syndrome right?
This is the imagery that plays in my mind when I read these verses. The Lord guarding our paths, protecting His people, setting up a fence, or a guard post around the perimeters of our lives. Nothing will come in without His permission. Every trial, every difficulty has to pass through Him to get to us, more like has to get His approval at the gate. If He allowed it, then there must be some purpose to it, for He promised to never give us more than we can bear.
God is reliable, and as long as we remain His faithful ones, He will protect us.
Shalom.
