I’ve struggled this week – feeling rusty and pretty much like a guitar out of tune. Every thing has been a little harder than normal. Even the every day tasks, that I should go through with my eyes closed – okay, partially closed- haven’t been any easier. I haven’t prayed or studied the Word all week, felt like I couldn’t muster the strength to tarry in His presence.
But bless the Lord for new beginnings. This evening, as my husband led our family in singing and worship during our evening prayer time, I felt like a deer panting for the rivers of water. Praise has a way of connecting us back to the Father. Helping us focus again on His Face and His goodness.
Praise revives – no wonder King Saul would call David to play the harp whenever the spirit of heaviness came upon him. I think praise is wonderful because it helps us take our eyes off ourselves and focus on the Great God.
Hallelujah. I’m back and it’s feels just great to be in the presence of the Father again.
Depressed? confused? feeling heavy? happy? grateful? Spend time praising the Father today. Lift Him up with your praise, for God inhabits the praises of His people.
Bless the Lord oh my soul, worship His Holy Name, sing like never before, worship His Holy Name!
Faithful God
