Proverbs 4:18
The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day (NIV)
From my little corner of the world, I get a pretty good view of the sun rise every morning (well, every non-crazy morning, for mornings are usually hurried and crazy around here).
Anyway, it starts out like a little orange dot peeping over its sheets of pale clouds, in a corner of the horizon, a little hesitant to get out of bed, so to speak. But that orange color is unmistakable, a burnt orange kind of shade. Slowly as the morning wears on, it gets bolder and bigger, progressing till it hits full bloom. Shining full glare in the middle of the sky, the sun can’t be ignored, for it brightens everything up.
This verse likens our lives to the morning sun. Though our beginning be small and inconspicuous, we are progressing, getting bigger and bolder like the morning sun. We will shine in spite of the dark clouds, and our light will pierce the darkness. We are on a journey to full beam, and like the sun, we will shine ever brighter till the full light of day.
I know, it may not always look or feel like it, but for us Christians, it can only get better. Whatever may come our way, we will shine brighter and brighter, till our lives become a complete reflection of our Heavenly Father.
Amen.
