Proverbs 10:5
‘He who gathers in summer is a wise son and he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.’
There is time for everything, a time to gather and a time to use up that which was gathered. ‘Summer’ is the time to gather. If you do the right thing at the right time, if you accurately discern the seasons of God, knowing what He’d have you do at every point in time and DOING them, then you are a wise son/daughter. And a wise son/daughter makes a glad Father. That definitely is one sure way to make God proud of you.
But if you can’t discern the times and seasons, if you’re sleeping or playing away when you should be in the fields harvesting, if you’re so out of program that you are not on the Father’s business, be it on your job, marriage, ministry, career, whatever, then you are a son/daughter who causes shame and your Father hasn’t got much use for you.
Are you where God wants you to be, doing what He wants you to do? Be wise.
