Psalm 23
Today, I studied this much cherished psalm again, and decided to break it down in my own words. Hope this blesses you as much as it blessed me.
The Lord is my Shepherd!
He tends lovingly, cares deeply and is very concerned about me.
He is watchful over me, never for once taking His eyes off me. Nothing escapes His watch and nothing could ever fall on His blind spot. He sees it all, and He knows it all.
He is responsible for me, its His job to provide for me. He is my Father, afterall.
He guides and He leads me, ever so gently and lovingly. The Lord would never coerce or be harsh with me. He protects me from danger and harm always. He will not put me in harms way, just as a shepherd will never knowingly lead his sheep to wild beasts.
He feeds me. . he nurtures and nourishes my spirit, soul and body.
Sometimes He leads me through unfamiliar routes and difficult terrain. But this is okay, because even then, I am not alone. He’s there, with his comforting guiding presence. I love how He waits for me to call, to need him, and then He shows up right on time. Right on time, because He was there all along. He is such a gentleman.
The Lord is in charge of my life. I hope He is in charge of yours too!
